Diptych with Interaction
For my diptych, I followed the same theme for each picture. I have an object and then I have the object in motion. So, for the first one, I have a pacifier and a baby using it and then for the second one, I have a basketball and a person spinning it on their fingers.

Food Ad vs Real Food
It's no surprise that the whopper jr. looks 100 times better in the ad, but I would still eat it again.
Surrealism Project
For my surrealism project, I have a random door in the middle of the forest opening to another world. To make the ‘other world’ through the door, I took a picture of the sky and edited to make the colors different and bold. I wanted to have a person walking through the door, but it didn't work out. Overall, I'm happy with my project, I believe it shows the impossible and an interesting way to show how there can be different adventures in our everyday places.

Childhood Recreation
This
is my childhood recreation photo. I tried to recreate a picture of my brother and I when we were younger. The photo was taken in April of 2000, at the time
my brother was 1 year old and I was 2 ½. Although the background looks
different, it is taken in the same exact place. The stairs have just been
changed over the years. To make the photo look more like a recreation, I added
the Yankees logo in Photo Shop.

Surrealist Theme
For my surreal photo, I'm making the sky into a puzzle. I plan on taking a picture of an empty puzzle box and using that as the base. Then I'm going to take a picture of the sky and edit it. I plan on making the sky look different, like in a dream. Add different colors, make the clouds look weird etc. Then from there, I'm going to try to make the sky into puzzle pieces. Some parts will be put together and have other parts still missing. I might also add my hands into the image. If I do add them, they will be holding some of the puzzle pieces.

Surrealist Artists
Erik Johansson
was born in 1985 in Götene, Sweeden. He grew up on a farm and was always
fascinated with the world of art. First starting off, his grandma inspired him
to paint and draw. But that changed when he began to shoot pictures and editing
them on the computer. He went to college at the Xhalmers University of
Technology. Throughout his time in
college, he got noticed by his photos and was requested to work for some local
advertisement agencies. He finished his studies with a master in Interaction
Design and decided to pursue photography. In 2012, he moved to Berlin. Now he
works with both personal and commissioned projects. He took up photography
street illusions and began speaking at conferences about his photography. At
the age of 30, Johansson has already made an impact to the art world. And there
is more to come from him.
René Magritte was
born on November 21, 1898 in Lessines, Belgium. He is a surrealist artist known
for his thought provoking images. He decided to study at the Academie des
Beaus-Art, which was located in Brussels. He took up doing small jobs around to
make a living, where he designed wallpaper and advertisements. He moved to
Paris and became involved in the surrealist movement where he finally became
known for his work. Sadly, his success
came to end when he died on August 15, 1967 but his work still lives on for all
to admire.

Title: Drifting
Away
Date: August 25, 2013
Description: A
bottle that is floating in some type of body of water. Inside the bottle is a
beautiful and peaceful place. While outside the bottle, there is more of a dark
feel. The sun is setting yet the sky is very dark, and the rain is falling
down.
Analysis: I believe this piece is very symmetrical
horizontally. The wave splits the picture in half; the top of the bottle is
above the water while the bottom of the bottle is below. As for vertically, I
still believe the piece is still symmetrical.
Interpretation: When looking at this piece, I believe the
meaning is even though everything may be crazy; there is still peace at home.
When you look at the picture, you see a beautiful home. The birds are flying
the sun is shining and everything there looks at ease. But when you look
outside the bottle, you see some sort of chaos. The dark water and heavy clouds
give the outside a dark feel. It’s
raining and it doesn't look like a peaceful place.
Judgement: I honestly like this piece. I believe it’s
really beautiful and it captures a lot in this little bottle. The bright and dark tones flow evenly and it
makes the photo mean so much more.

Title: The False
Mirror
Date: 1928
Description: An
eye that is colored in with the sky.
Analysis: The main subject takes up the entire piece.
This piece is symmetrical with both vertically and horizontally. The color also
follows some type of symmetrical way.
Interpretation: Just by the title, The False Mirror many
things come to mind. For one, the piece could mean that someone is looking at
his refection and is falsely identifying himself. When looking into the ‘mirror’,
he sees himself as something big and important (the sky) when in reality he is
actually small compared to everything (the pupil). The mirror may just be
reality showing him what he really is.
Judgement: I like this piece mostly because of the
different number of ways someone can interpret the image. It means something
different to anybody, which makes it enjoyable for all. The color is bright and
vibrant and it really draws my attention to the image.
These two different artists both provide different views on
art. In Johansson’s work, I know planning took place. Both using photography
and Photoshop can take a long time. For his work, he took the picture of the
actual bottle in water and then photo shopped the rest in. His colors were duller
and less vibrant compared to Magritte’s work. But Johansson’s photo still has a
type of color that attracts your attention. Magritte paints all of his work,
which gives it a whole different feel. Less realistic, but more vibrant. Both
of these artists are from different times, so their artwork differs a lot.

App Review
Tadaa App
If you are looking for a more advanced photo taking app, the Tadaa app might be perfect for you. Often praised as the second Instagram, the Tadaa app allows you to share as well as edit your pictures. More advanced than just adding filters this app allows you to adjust tint, brightness, contrast, clarity and even more. From a variety of filters and editing tools, it’s easy to see how this app gets the best reviews.
Though it does take some time to figure out how to work, I think this app is great for skill or just a new person to follow, the Tadaa app opens your eyes to awesome things. One of the coolest things on the Tadaa app is how it allows you to focus on objects on your photos after the photo is taken. This allows you to have a clearer and better focus on your images as well as filters only on certain parts. Just like the quick selection tool in Photoshop, Tadaa has the same tool to edit your photos.
Tadaa is an app that was made by a group of people in Hamburg, Germany. They wanted to succeed in photo editing as well as a sharing community, and I believe they have succeeded. The app is free and allows you to edit all of your pictures, but if you want more editing options you can buy the Ultimate Pro Pack for more and better options. Overall, I believe this app is a great photo editing app for everyone and I recommend getting it for your phone.

David Hockney
Landscape
I created this image by taking photos at the park. I took pictures from all angles(up, down, right and left) Then in Photoshop, I took different parts from the different pictures to recreate a new picture. Using different shapes in pictures helped create this image look like a Hockney image.
Portrait

To create this picture, I took multiple pictures of my brother at the park. I did the same thing as I did with the landscape image, I cropped out some parts of the other pictures to make a whole new one. Next time, I would've took pictures of him from a lower angle because the bottom ended weirdly to me.

Depth Of Field
This photo shows depth of field. The main focus of this photo is the elephant while everything else is blurred out in the background.
Where I'd Rather Be
This is my 'Where I'd Rather Be' project. For this, I would rather be with Drake, my favorite music artist. I took a picture of Drake sitting with another girl and pasted my face onto it. I struggled with this project mostly because of the color difference. Even though, I am in black and white our faces are different. I tried changing the brightness but this is the best I could get it. Overall, I am not that disappointed with the outcome of this project.
Partner Project
For this project I tried to show how the world would be a whole new adventure if we were in a smaller size. I took two photos, one of a person sitting down and one of someone reaching our for something. Then I cut each person out and pasted it on the picture with the shelves. My inspiration for the project was from the movie Honey, I Shrunk The Kids.

Portrait Series
© Jazmine Richardson
This photo series shows me doing my hair. I have naturally
curly hair that I've learned to love. The photo series shows me doing my hair
in simple steps. It starts from brushing and washing it and ends with me blow
drying and finally having it done. I chose to make the photo black and white
because I really like the feel it gives the whole series. I took the pictures
as I did my hair so as the day went on the lighting changed also, which made
some pictures brighter than others. For next time, I would've used a blank
background. The background was busy when
I took the photos so I tried to blur them out so the attention was on me doing
my hair.

Composition Book
Informal Balance
I believe this photo represents informal balance. Even though they're two balls, they are both different colors and textures. Making the photo asymmetrical.
Silhouette
This photo represents silhouette. The model in the photo has the lighting behind her which makes her appear darker.
Sharp Focus
This photo shows a sharp focus. The picture is very clear and shows great detail.
Formal Balance
This photo shows formal balance. You can see that it is somewhat symmetrical. If the photo was folded in half it would be almost identical.
Angle Up
The photo shows the angle up position. The image is taken from down low looking up, creating a worm's eye view.
